Getting to Lewis

By Air FlyBe flys from Glasgow and Inverness to Stornoway. Flying time is between 45 minutes and 1 hour.

By Car There are two ferry routes to the Isle of Lewis operated by Caledonian MacBrayne from Ullapool to Stornoway and from Uig on the Isle of Skye to Tarbert. The ferries get booked up from March onwards so best to book ahead.

Getting to Uig

Directions from Stornoway, take the A859 towards Tarbert. After 10 miles turn right at Liurbost on to the A858 to Gearraidh Na H-Aibhne. Take a left on to the B8011 to Timsgearraidh. At Timsgearraidh continue on the road to Eadha Da Fhadhail, you will see the Uig bay car park. The journey takes approximately 1 hour.

Directions from Tarbert, take the A859 north towards Stornoway. Turn left at Liurbost on to the A858 to Gearraidh Na H-Aibhne. Turn left on to the B8011 to Timsgearraidh. At Timsgearraidh continue on the road to Eadha Da Fhadhail, you will see the Uig bay car park. The journey takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
